Etymology
There are two theories of the origin of the word
- from the Mongolian words "shuru" or "sulru" - the name of the Mongolian soup, which was borrowed during the Koryo dynasty,
- it is assumed that during the Joseon Dynasty , ceremonies called Sonnongje were held to obtain a good harvest. For these rites, the king came up with a simple soup for the people, so that it was possible to feed a large number of people. The soup was called "Sonnon Than", over time the name was transformed into "Sollon Than"
