Gamjathan ( cor. 감자탕 , potato soup) - Korean spicy soup with pork ridge and vegetables, in particular, with potatoes , as well as red pepper .

Gamjathan
The spine usually separates. Typically, this dish is served late in the evening or even at night, but in principle, it can be consumed during lunch or dinner . Koreans often use soup as an appetizer for soju .
History
The origin of the name of the soup is not exactly known; but basically there are two points of view: the soup contains a lot of “gamge” ( Russian potatoes ), and the word “gamge” is a synonym for the pork spine.
