Gibeon (meteorite)

Gibeon is an iron meteorite . Chemical composition: 91.8% iron , 7.7% nickel , 0.5% cobalt , 0.04% phosphorus , traces of gallium , germanium , iridium . Discovered in 1836 , fell to Earth about 500,000 years ago. The time of the fall of the meteorite is unknown. The age of about 4.6 billion years. It was first discovered by the Nama tribe, which used separate pieces to make weapons and labor tools. Found 26 tons of debris. The Russian Academy of Sciences stores debris with a total weight of 1.5 tons.
