Biography
Pupil A. Perezinotti and J. Valeriani. He joined the newly established Imperial Academy of Arts (1762) with the title of adjunct and was recognized as βappointed to academicsβ for the painting βThe Holy Apostle Peter Renounces Christβ . Academician "under the new regulations." Associate professor of historical painting. The title of professor (1771). Honorary Academician of the Spanish Academy of Arts and Senior Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. Associate Rector of the Academy of Arts (1779). Director of the St. Petersburg Tapestry Manufactory (1779). He was the director of an educational school at the Academy of Arts. [one]
