De Frúctibus et Semínibus Plantárum (lat.) Is a three-volume treatise on botany by the German botanist and physician Joseph Gertner (1732-1791) in Latin. The first volume was published in December 1788. The second volume in four parts was published in 1790, 1791, 1791 and 1792, respectively.

The full title of the work is “ De fructibus et seminibus plantarum: accedunt seminum centuriae quinque priores cum tabulis aeneis ”. The standard abbreviation used to refer to this work when citing in scientific works is Fruct. Sem. Pl. [one]
The work used information about plants from more than a thousand genera , descriptions are given on Australian and Pacific samples from the collection of Sir Joseph Banks and on South African samples from the collection of Karl Peter Tunberg . The work mainly investigated the fruits and seeds of plants, their morphology and classification . The information presented and systematized in the book served as the basis for the science of fruits - carpology . This scientific work was an outstanding achievement for its time.
The last (third) volume, known as Supplementum Carpologicae , was published after the death of Gertner in 1805-1807 by his son Karl Friedrich von Gertner . To refer to the third volume of work, the abbreviation Suppl is used. Carp. [2] .
