Sovetskaya Street originates in the historical center in the form of a continuation of Tula Street at the intersection of the latter with the Serpeika River. Passes from the Nara and Serpeika valleys to the north-east among the buildings of the XVIII - XIX centuries , intersecting with the streets of Sverdlov, Kaluzhskaya , 1st Moscow , Chekhov , Lunacharsky, then among the quarters of the mid-second half of the XX century , through intersections with Mishin passage, streets Krupskaya and John Reed. At the intersection of Sovetskaya and John Reed Street, there is one of the city squares - Vladimir the Brave Square (until 2005 Sovetskaya). Then Sovetskaya intersects with the streets of Gorky, Firsov and ends with a T-shaped intersection with Voroshilov Street in the square in front of the station . The length of Sovetskaya Street is about 3,700 meters, which makes it the third longest in Serpukhov after Voroshilov and Proletarskaya Streets.
