John Porcelly , also known as Porsell and Paramananda Dasa , an American musician , at various times was the guitarist of the hardcore punk bands Young Republicans, Violent Children, Youth of Today , Judge , Shelter , Never Surrender and Last of the Famous . He was also a vocalist in Project X (under the artistic pseudonym Slam) and played for some time with the bands Bold and Gorilla Biscuits . Together with Alex Brown (Gorilla Biscuits / Side By Side / Project X), Porselli is the founder of the indie label Schism Records . [one]

By faith, John Porselli is Hare Krishna . [1] Joined the International Society for Krishna Consciousness shortly before becoming a Shelter guitarist. [2] Among the Hare Krishnas, he is known by his spiritual name Paramananda Dasa. [2] John Porselli and Ray Cappo are considered the creators of Krishnakor, the new hardcore punk subgenre of music.
