Tournament format for 2012
In 2012, the rules of the standard version of snooker were applied at the Shoot-Out tournament with the following changes:
Before each round, a random draw is held. The maximum frame length is 10 minutes. An initial hit is drawn by “rolling” the balls onto a short board (both players simultaneously strike at the cue ball when they are located on the border of the bolker line ; who, as a result of the strike, the cue ball stops closer to the opposite short board, wins the robbery right). For each hit, the player is given no more than 20 seconds in the first 5 minutes and no more than 15 seconds in the next five-minute period; no timeouts. In case the player does not fit the allotted time, an additional 5 points are awarded to the opponent. At each hit, at least one ball must touch at least one side, or at least one ball must be hammered (in this case, contact with the sides is optional). In any foul, the right to strike passes to the opponent, and he can put the cue ball anywhere on the table ( hand game ). If after scoring all the balls the score becomes equal, there is a “replay in blue” (similar to a replay in black for the standard version of snooker): the blue ball is set to its mark, then by drawing lots the player is determined who is entitled to take the initial hit from sector D . The one who will score the blue and win the frame.
