It was found on August 10-15, 1927 , on a grain field 3-4 km west of the city of Genichesk, a resident of the city, retired teacher S.F. Nikulin. Forwarded to them in CMET. In his letter, S. F. Nikulin wrote: “I read in the newspapers that stones are sent to you, which they think are meteorites. I have such a stone. In 1927, I drove early in the morning to harvest bread. Before reaching his field, he saw that a ball of fire had fallen. A few days later on the field I found a stone, like a piece of iron, brown, irregular in shape. I have been keeping it since then. ”
The meteorite lay in dust on the surface of the soil, clean of stubble. There were no holes or holes; the soil on the field is soft. Its surface is highly oxidized and partially covered with the same oxidized melting crust. In appearance it is clear that this is an individual specimen with surfaces of the first and second kind, according to the classification of E. L. Krinov . Apparently, the meteorite is part of a larger body, fragmented in the atmosphere, but in the neighboring fields other parts of this meteorite were not found. Although the meteorite is highly oxidized and the surface has undergone prolonged erosion , it nevertheless clearly distinguishes between the melting core, crushing boundaries and the inner surface, which is also fused, but to a lesser extent. The meteorite has a dark brown-rusty-brown color. 2-3 small regmagliptas are not clearly distinguished.
