"Social Worker's Day" received the status of an official holiday relatively recently. On April 13, 1999, in the capital of the republic, Kiev , the second president of Ukraine, Leonid Danilovich Kuchma, signed Decree No. 374/99 “On the Day of the Worker in the Social Sphere”. In a presidential decree in particular, it was stated that the establishment of this professional holiday is the initiative of “ workers in the system of labor organs and social policy [2] ”.
However, judging by the president’s speech in honor of this day, he himself perfectly understands the role of social protection bodies for Ukrainians. In particular, Leonid Kuchma said:
“Caring for people is the main content and your activity. Social workers on time give a helping hand to those who need it, give people hope for the best, and constantly show kindness and mercy. Thank you so much for your conscientious and noble work. [3] "
Currently, about 150,000 people work in the social sphere of Ukraine.
