Vitaliy Mikhailovich Skobelev (March 25, 1938, Moscow - May 5, 1984, ibid) - a Russian Soviet artist, painter and graphic artist , was part of the group of “ Twenty Moscow Artists ”.

Biography and creative activity
Vitaly Mikhailovich Skobelev was born in 1938 in Moscow. He began painting at the age of fifteen. In 1961 he graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute . He worked as an architect in the Office for the design of the World Exhibition and Mosproekt-2 . As a young specialist, he executed a number of projects of public and residential buildings, proposed a layout-idea of the building of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance, on the basis of which the design of the CMEA building (now Moscow City Hall) on New Arbat was developed [1] .
In 1964 he switched to teaching. While working at the painting department of the Moscow Architectural Institute, he conducted innovative experiments for that time on how to use color in architecture.
In 1977, he joined the MKKHG (Moscow Joint Committee of Graphic Artists) and participated in legendary exhibitions at Malaya Gruzinskaya ( Moscow City Committee of Graphic Artists ), including the group “ Twenty Moscow Artists ”. The style of his paintings can be defined as “metaphysical realism”.
Designed a number of performances, participated in exhibitions of theater artists. Engaged in book and magazine graphics. In 1983 he became a member of the painting section of the Union of Artists of the USSR . The paintings of V. M. Skobelev are in museums and private collections in Russia and abroad.
