Content
History
The building of the National Museum of Finland was created by architects G. Gesellius , E. Saarinen and A. Lindgren working at the architectural firm Gesellius-Lindgren-Saarinen . It is located on Mannerheim Avenue . The construction of the building was begun in 1905 , completed in 1910 . In 1916, the museum was open to visitors. The foyer of the museum is decorated with frescoes by Finnish artist Axeli Gallen-Kallela .
Exposure
The exposition of the National Museum is divided into six parts. It presents collections of coins, medals, orders and insignias, silver, jewelry and weapons. Many exhibits were found during archaeological excavations in Finland.
