Biography

Born on December 9, 1923 in the village of Yuryevo, Zadonsky district, Lipetsk region, in a peasant family. Russian He lived with his parents in Georgia, studied there, joined the Komsomol [1] . Secondary education. He worked on a collective farm .

Years of World War II

In the Red Army since May 1942 (drafted by the Zugdidi RVK of the Georgian SSR [2] ). After graduating from the three-month courses, he became a radio operator-signalman [3] . At the front in World War II from August 1942. Member of the CPSU since 1942 [2] .

He took his first battle at the Kalach-Donskoy farm on the Chervlennaya River as part of an artillery regiment [3] . For participation in the Battle of Stalingrad he was awarded the medal "For the Defense of Stalingrad" [2] .

On October 20, 1943, a radio telegraph operator of the 261st Guards Cannon Artillery Regiment of the 36th Rifle Corps of the 5th Army of the Western Front of the Guard, Junior Sergeant F.A. Komov, in the vicinity of the village of Stara Tukhinya ( Vitebsk Region ), deployed a radio station under enemy fire and, despite being wounded , adjusted artillery fire. On December 31, 1943, as a result of its accurate adjustment of fire, two strongholds of resistance were suppressed and more than an infantry company were destroyed, which allowed the soldiers of the 618th Infantry Regiment to take the most advantageous positions. For this episode on February 3, 1944 he was awarded the Order of Glory of the III degree [2] .

From June 23 to 24, 1944, in the battles north of the settlement of Bogushevskoye (now Bogushevsk, Vitebsk Region ), F. A. Komov, as part of the 36th Rifle Corps of the 5th Army of the 3rd Belorussian Front, provided for the adjustment of artillery fire. Despite the wound, he did not leave the battlefield, as a result of which the horsemen of the 6th Guards Cavalry Division were able to successfully cross the Luchesa River and began to develop an attack on Bogushevsk [4] . For this, on August 16, 1944 he was awarded the Order of Glory, II degree.

The commander of the liaison office of the guard, sergeant F.A. Komov, in the offensive in the vicinity of the village of Gros-Potaurn (25 km southwest of the city of Insterburg , now Chernyakhovsk, Kaliningrad region ) provided stable radio communication of the observation post with firing positions, and on January 24, 1945, the regimental Banner was saved taking command of the platoon. He was wounded again, but remained in service. Destroyed about 10 enemy soldiers. June 29, 1945 he was awarded the Order of Glory of the I degree, becoming the first regiment to complete the Knight of the Order of Glory [5] .

Post-war years

In 1946, demobilized. Since 1948, he lived in the city of Stalinogorsk (now Novomoskovsk, Tula region ). He worked on a collective farm , then, after graduating from the annual road-technical courses, as a trailer operator at the Tula branch of the Moscow Railway, station duty, senior assistant to the head of the Severnaya station [3] . Since 1962 - deputy head of the station Klyuchevka Tula region [1] .

On December 30, 1973, along with Heroes of the Soviet Union N. Prisyagin , M. P. Strizhkov and A. F. Fedonov, the full holder of the Order of Glory , took part in the opening of the Eternal Glory monument on Moskovskaya Street in Novomoskovsk [6] .

In 1983, he retired from the post of head of the Molodezhnaya station [3] .
