He learned to play the organ and piano with his father Joseph Sook Sr.. He graduated from the Prague Conservatory , along with the composition class of Antonin Dvořák - the violin class of Antonin Bennevits . In 1891 - 1933 played the second violin as part of the famous Czech Quartet . He was one of the most beloved students of Dvorak . In 1898, Suk married his daughter.
The author of symphonic and chamber works. One of the largest works is the symphony No. 2 “Azrael”.
In 1932, the composer was awarded a silver medal in the Contest of Arts at the X Olympic Games in Los Angeles (nomination - music) for the composition “Into a New Life”. A gold medal in this category has not been awarded. Bitch retired in 1933. He died in Benesov in 1935.
Among the students are Boguslav Martinu , Clement Slavitsky , Stanoilo Raichich and Pavel Borkovets .
