  • Orthodox church of the Protection of the Holy Virgin . In January 1848, the landowner Melanya Stepanovna Kuteynikova petitioned the Archbishop John of Don and Novocherkassk for the construction of the Intercession Church. After 5 years, construction began, and in 1855 the church was consecrated in honor of the Protection of the Mother of God. After 30 years, a parish school began to work. The church was cramped, but made of quality materials. The only point to which there could be comments was to the bell tower above the porch , in which a crack was discovered at the beginning of the 20th century. In the late 1930s, the church was closed, in 1944 it resumed its work, and functioned until 1962. Then the building became the property of the Kursk state farm; grain and hay were stored in it. Pokrovskaya church is located at a certain distance from the settlement of St. Nicholas. To get to it, you must overcome the sand ford and cross the Kalitva River. The church is located in the middle of the field, on chalk and clay hills. The bell tower of the church is dense, created in the tent style of Ancient Russia . In 1992, there were attempts to revive the church, but they failed. The temple was desolate until the beginning of the XX century, then it began to be restored. Around the structure, a metal fence was created and a number of trees were planted. A bridge was made across the Kalitva River. Inside the church building was also ennobled. Wooden floors appeared, the narthexes (north and south) were concreted. The altar was whitewashed and plastered. March 1, 2005, the parish of the settlement of Nikolskaya became a courtyard of the Holy Protection Monastery, which is located in Verkhnemakeevka [3] .
  • The ruins of the manor house are the remains of a building that used to be near the Nikolskaya Church. The house was built from sawn chalk, now only cellars, fences and ditches are left of it.
  • Scythian barrow, which is located near the Nikolskaya settlement on the right bank of the Kalitva River. It is distinguished by its large height and width. In the days of the USSR, concerts of artists were held in the meadow under the barrow.
  • Two sources. One of them is called the "Speaker," the other is "Salty." The mud of one of the sources is considered healing in the local population [3] .
