Msin

MSIN - (Mobile Subscriber Identification Number) is an individual mobile subscriber number. It is an integral part of IMSI.

This is the internal 10-digit (9-digit for North America) subscriber's card number (in GSM - SIM- cards). It is part of the 15-digit IMSI number. The first 5 (6 for North America) IMSI characters are the same for one network and one country.

The SIM card number is known only to her and to the cellular network switch. In the switch, each card is assigned from one to 10 subscriber numbers (it depends only on the switch software), which is issued to the subscriber. If you lose or replace the SIM card, only the MSIN is lost, but not the federal number of the subscriber, which is stored in the switch ( HLR ), and not in the SIM card.

Thus, IMEI and MSIN are stored in the mobile phone. They are transmitted in encoded form to the switch when the subscriber (A) makes a call. To another subscriber (B), the switch displays one of the federal numbers set as the primary. When receiving a call from subscriber (B), the switch accepts the call for any of the 10 federal numbers recorded for subscriber A in the switch. In this case, the search for subscriber A in the network is carried out by the MSIN assigned to these numbers.
