In Titovka there is a temple " In the name of the prophet John the Divine, " but unfortunately it is destroyed. This Temple is a vivid example of the Russian-Byzantine style on the Don. The church is one of the few surviving buildings of the Russian-Byzantine style. It was made according to the standard project No. 25 of Konstantin Andreevich Ton, court architect Nicholas I.
The Church of St. John the Divine was built in 1878. The church was built odnoprestolnoy. In her parish were residents of nearby farms Frolov, Nazdrovsky and Aleksandrovsky. Since 1877 a rural parish school functioned at the church. Throughout its history, the temple has never been rebuilt.
After the October Revolution, the temple was closed. During the Civil War, there was a granary in the temple. During the Great Patriotic War, the temple building was not damaged. To date, some elements of the internal painting have been preserved in it, on some windows there are original iron bars [2] .
In 1966, according to the decision of the Millerovsky District Executive Committee, the church was finally closed. In the temple it was planned to open a village club, but it was again adapted as a warehouse for grain. Later, as unnecessary, the temple building was abandoned. In the 1990s, the inhabitants of the farm began to raise funds for the reconstruction of the temple, but the required amount in the end turned out to be too large.
In July 2015, during the visit of Priest Millerovsky District, Priest Sergiy Soshkin, to the Titovskoye rural settlement, a discussion was held on the need to create a prayer room on the territory of the village. A room was chosen and a plan was approved for its reconstruction and for arranging the prayer room in it. After inspecting the destroyed temple in Titovka, it was decided to start collecting information on the possibility of restoring the temple.
Currently, the former temple has a special place in the museum of Titovskaya secondary school. One of the three bells taken in the 1960s is kept there.
