Macedonian denar

Macedonian Denar ( Macedonian Macedonian denar ) is the national currency of Northern Macedonia , the name derives from Ancient Roman denarius .

One denier is formally equal to 100 days , but since 2013, coins in day are not used as a means of payment. From December 25, 2000 to 2006, in the All-Russian Classifier of Currencies was called a dinar.

Content

History

It was put into circulation on April 26, 1992, at that moment it was equal to the Yugoslav dinar . On May 5, 1993, a denomination was produced in the ratio of 1 new denar to 100 old. In circulation are coins of 1, 2, 5, 10 and 50 denars; banknotes - 10, 50, 100, 500, 1000 and 5000 denars. In 2016, banknotes with denominations of 200 and 2000 denars were introduced [1] .

Coins

On the obverse of the coins is the denomination against the background of a stylized image of the sun with 16 rays. On the reverse - on the edge of the name of the state and year of manufacture, in the center - the corresponding image. The edge of the coins of all denominations is smooth.
