Saveliy (Sven) Lavrentievich Vaksel ( Swede. Sven Larsson Waxell ; 1701 , Stockholm - 1762 , St. Petersburg ) - naval officer, officer of the Russian Navy, captain of the 1st rank. Member of the Second Kamchatka Expedition ( 1733 - 1744 ). Father of Lavrenty Vaksel .

1701 Born in Stockholm ( Sweden ).
1724 Entered the Russian service as a volunteer .

1733 Appointed to the Second Kamchatka Expedition with the rank of lieutenant with the performance of the post of navigator.
1741 V. I. Bering was appointed senior officer of the St. Peter packet boat .
1741 - 1742 Member of the voyage to the northwestern shores of America .
November 9, 1741 He took command of the expedition after the death of Captain-Commander Bering.
