History
The most popular resort park in Sochi is the Riviera, which was founded by the famous businessman, honorary citizen of the city of Egorievsk, Vasily Alekseevich Khludov ( 1841 - 1913 ) in 1898 . Before the revolution, this part of the city (the right-bank river of Sochi ) was called so-called Khludovskaya. In Soviet times, the park was a favorite place of leisure and flirting for vacationers at the resort, it was customary to make appointments here.
Attractions and entertainment
The park has numerous attractions, a sports town, a karting track , a library, a fountain of love (drinking), an exhibition hall, a cinema, a bench of reconciliation, a shop for lovers (sculptor A. Khalafyan ), an aquarium, a dolphinarium, a night club - CIRCUS Club project, Zeleny a theater where concerts and shows are held.
Park Plants
The park is a place where numerous species of trees and shrubs grow, including rare ones. These are cedars, larches, magnolias, fan palms, etc. In total there are more than 240 species of plants, including more than 50 of particular value.
A prominent place is occupied by pink plantations. The roses of the park range from small, loose on the winding shrubs to large individual ones. Pink plantings are updated every year, so they look unique every year.
In 2011, rare sakura species were planted with large pink and white blooms.
The main attraction of the park is the Glade of Friendship, on which magnolias grow, planted by famous political figures, astronauts. 45 Russian cosmonauts and American astronauts planted their trees here.
Among them are Yuri Gagarin , German Titov , Valentina Tereshkova , Alexei Leonov , Vitaly Sevastyanov , Thomas Stafford , Donald Slayton . It was laid on April 27, 1960 (the first tree was planted by Otto Grotewol ). The magnolia planted by Gagarin died, falling into the oppression zone of a widely grown neighboring tree planted by Bulgarian communist leader Todor Zhivkov .
