Goryanka Korean [2] , or Korean Epimedium ( Latin: Epimēdium koreānum ) is a perennial herbaceous plant , a species of the genus Epimedium of the family Barberry ( Berberidaceae ).

Distribution and Ecology
The species range covers Korea and Japan .
It grows in shady forests.
Botanical Description
Stem up to 40 cm high. Rhizome is rather thin, horizontally creeping.
Basal leaves are usually absent, less often among two, and then they are the same length with a flower-bearing stalk. The stem leaf is single, double-triple, its lobes on long petioles are thin-leathery, deep-heart-shaped, in the youth it is pressed-hairy from below, ciliated at the edges, soon losing their pubescence.
The brush is simple or slightly branched at the base, short, sitting against the leaf. Bracts are ovoid, flowers are relatively large, with a diameter of about 2 cm; sepals ovate-lanceolate, sharp, white or pink; white or purple petals ; their plate is elongated rounded, at the apex more often slightly notched.
Capsule ovate-oblong with a long column, 6-8- seed .

The Korean Epimedium species belongs to the genus Epimedium of the tribe Barberry ( Berberideae ) of the subfamily Barberry ( Berberidoideae ) of the family Barberry ( Berberidaceae ) of the order Ranunculales .
