Biography
Born September 25, 1955 in Frankfurt am Main in a family of Russian émigrés. His grandfather was a Czech: “My grandfather was a Czech from Prague, he studied in St. Petersburg at one time, he met my grandmother there and stayed in Russia. He was a railwayman, a civil engineer, and in the Arkhangelsk province he led one section ” [1] . The father is Vladimir Yaromirovich Gorachek (1916–1981), a long-term director of the Posev publishing house, an active member of the People’s Labor Union of Russian Solidarians (NTS) [2] .
He graduated from high school in Frankfurt am Main in 1974. After serving in the army, he entered the faculty of architecture in Darmstadt in 1976, but, wanting to become a monk , he left school.
From 1974 to 1984 - Member of the People’s Labor Union of Russian Solidarians (NTS). He left the organization on his own.
In 1979, he entered the monastic community at the Holy Elizabeth Church in Wiesbaden, organized by the rector of the church, Archimandrite Mark (Arndt) , who moved after the episcopal consecration of his spiritual leader on November 30, 1980 to the monastery of St. Job of Pochaev in Munich [3] . On November 9, 1981, he was shorn into a rassophore , and on March 29, 1983, into a robe . On December 25 of the same year he was ordained a hierodeacon , on April 8, 1991, a hieromonk [4] .
In the monastery he carried various obediences, including those related to publishing.
In 1995 he was elevated to the rank of hegumen . In 1998 he was awarded a cross with ornaments . [five]
The decision to ordain bishop Hegumen Agapit (Gorachek) was made at the ROCOR Bishops' Council on October 20, 2000 unanimously (another candidate for bishops elected by the cathedral, Siberian archpriest Joachim Lapkin , refused to be ordained). [6]
On April 30, 2001, in the cathedral, the new martyrs and confessors of Russia during the celebrations of glorification in the ROCOR of saints Ignatius (Brianchaninov) , Feofan the Recluse , Philaret of Moscow and the Monk Theophil of Kiev at the end of the all-night vigil and the first hour were appointed bishop [7] .
On May 1, 2001, he was also ordained bishop of Stuttgart , vicar of the German Diocese of the ROCOR . The hierarchs who participated in the celebrations were consecrated: the archbishop of Syracuse and Trinity Commons (Shkurla) , the archbishop of Berlin and Germany, Mark (Arndt) , the archbishop of Australia and New Zealand, Hilarion (Corporal) , the bishop of Ishim-Siberian Euchius, and the words of the Covenant, Hilarion (Corporal) , the bishop of Ishim and Siberian (Cantacuzene) [7] .
In 2004 and 2008 he visited Russia (in the Urals ). [eight]
On May 5, 2009, he served in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Archbishop Aristarkh (Peristeris) , secretary of the Holy Synod of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, thus restoring the fullness of church communion with the Patriarchate of Jerusalem ROCOR [9] .
On July 4, 2010, I had an accident: when driving on the A8 Stuttgart - Munich highway, a car driven by a drunk driver hit the back of a BMW car at high speed [10] .
From July 10, 2010 [11] for 4 months at the request of Metropolitan Hilarion (Corporal) was in Australia [12] .
September 29, 2010 "in consideration of the hard work and in connection with the 55th anniversary of his birth" was awarded a commemorative panagia [13] .
By the decision of the Bishops' Council of the ROCOR, held on May 10 - 17, 2011, he was appointed chairman of the newly-established Publishing Council of the Russian Church Abroad [14] .
September 27, 2015 "in consideration of the hard work and in connection with the 60th anniversary" was awarded the Order of St. Seraphim of Sarov II degree [15]
On June 13, 2017, by the decision of the ROCOR Bishops' Council, he was elevated to the rank of archbishop. [sixteen]

- Bp Agapit signed a bishop's blessing for the publication in 2008 of the book “Regal Passion-bearers. Posthumous Fate ”, published under the pseudonym of Natalia Rozanova. [17]
- Bp Agapit wrote an afterword to the book “Myths about General Vlasov” published in 2010 , published in Moscow by the “Posev” publishing house - author: K.M. Alexandrov. [18]
