History
In 1805, at the same time as General A. K. Denisov , Akim Akimovich Karpov received land plots in the local territories for services to the tsar and fatherland. At that time he was in the rank of colonel and lived in the town of Starocherkassk . To their lands, the Karopov acquired peasants in the Ryazan, Tambov and Tula provinces. The first settlers with all their household belongings arrived at the end of October 1805.
At first, the village was called by the name of the colonel - Karpovo. It was small: about three dozen courtyards. On the left side of the river Water Land belonged to the first daughter of Karpov, Anna. This settlement was called Annenka, and on the right side of the river of land belonged to Martha, the second daughter. They were called Marfinka.
Anna soon married and left. Lands owned by Anna, went to her sister Martha. Out a whole generation of people, and with it the name Annenka. The village was called Marfinka.
In 1861, after the abolition of serfdom , the local landowners sold their land to the peasants.
In the second half of the XIX century, more than a dozen windmills were built here.
In 1862, the Seleznev brothers bought the local lands and founded a new hamlet - Seleznyov . Its inhabitants were engaged in farming and beekeeping [2] .
