Geography
The village is located on both sides of the Mius river. Moreover, its pollution is one of the important environmental problems in the village.

History
Founded in 1776 by the military commissar, court adviser Grigory Ivanovich Kovalensky [1] .
According to the general census in 1782, 162 people lived in it. A hundred years later, Ryazhenoye Grace-Kurakinskoy (later Politotdel) volost, which entered the Taganrog District , already numbered 218 households and 1370 souls of both sexes.
In Ryazhen, a wooden St. George Church was built, numbering about 1,500 parishioners.
There is a secondary school.
