Born in the family of Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Nikolai Petrovich Fedotov (1901–1966) and Candidate of Medical Sciences Claudia Ivanovna Polkovnikova.

Member of the CPSU (b) . He graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Foreign Affairs of the USSR . In diplomatic service since 1952.

  • In 1952 - 1957 - employee of the USSR Embassy in Burma .
  • In 1957 - 1959 - employee of the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.
  • In 1959 - 1963 he was an employee of the USSR Embassy in Sudan .
  • In 1963 - 1968 - employee of the central office of the USSR Foreign Ministry.
  • In 1968 - 1969 - Counselor of the USSR Embassy in Iraq .
  • In 1969 - 1972 - Minister Counselor of the USSR Embassy in Iraq.
  • In 1972 - in responsible work in the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR.
  • From December 12, 1972 to September 19, 1978 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR in Sudan [1] .
