Free Homeland

The Free Homeland Party ( Armenian Ազատ Հայրենիք , Azat Ayrenik ) is the ruling party of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic . It was founded on January 29, 2005. The chairman of the party is Prime Minister Araik Harutyunyan . On June 19, 2005, the Free Homeland Party received 12 out of 33 seats, after which Araik Harutyunyan was elected chairman of the party. At the NKR National Assembly elections on May 23, 2010, the “Free Homeland” party gained 46.4% of the vote according to the proportional system and, together with those elected by the majority system, won 14 parliamentary seats and made up the parliamentary majority. Program

The program of the party is a document expressing the national interests of the Artsakh people, their freedom, security and the right to self-determination. Party is a political association of the NKR on a voluntary basis. Objectives:

  • a) together with like-minded people to approve social justice,
  • b) to revive the people's faith in their own strengths and a brighter future,
  • c) create conditions for the formation of middle layers,
  • d) promote the spiritual revival of the people, increase the role of the Armenian Apostolic Church

Ideology

National factors that promote approval and protection: national and religious identity, economic development, preservation of language, national educational system and culture, patriotism and military spirit, preservation of traditions, customs and family, virtue and self-esteem, solidarity, historical memory, national thinking and spiritual culture. The main difference from other Armenian and Artsakh parties is the dominance of the ideas of economic development over democratic transformations. Economic development will help to achieve independence, the establishment of civil society and democracy.
