Biography
She was born on August 29, 1928 in Mezhildzer of the Dundag parish of Ventspils county in the family of Arthur Ritenberg.
Graduated from Liepaja evening high school, studio of the State Drama Theater named after A. Upita (teacher Vera Balyuna, 1948 ) and the directing department of the theater faculty of the Latvian State Conservatory named after J. Vitola ( 1974 ).
She was an actress of the Liepaja Drama Theater ( 1948 - 1957 ), Riga Russian Drama Theater ( 1957 - 1962 ), Moscow Drama Theater. K. S. Stanislavsky ( 1962 - 1975 ). Director of the Riga Film Studio ( 1975 - 1990 ).
Member of the Union of Cinematographers of Latvia since 1958 . Honored Artist of the Latvian SSR ( 1960 ).
Winner of the Venice Film Festival prize for starring in the film " Mallow " directed by Vladimir Brown (1957).
She was married to actor Evgeny Urbansky , who was tragically killed on November 5, 1965 on the set of the film “ Director ”. Their daughter Eugene was born a few months after the death of her father.
The actress died on March 9, 2003 after a long illness. She was buried at the Riga Forest Cemetery .
