F. Kazorati was born in the family of an officer. In childhood and adolescence, Casorati often moved from place to place, lived in Milan , in Sardinia , in Padua . The future artist originally studied piano, then graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Padua . In parallel, he took painting lessons - first in Pavia , and from 1908 - in Naples . In 1907 and 1909 exhibitions of his paintings were held in Venice . During the First World War, he was drafted into the army. In 1923, Kazorati was arrested for participating in the anti-fascist movement.
In the works of the artist, the influence of symbolism and the modernist style (especially Gustav Klimt ) was originally strongly influenced. In the early 1920s, Casorati accepts Giorgio de Chirico’s metaphysical realism and uses his principles of spatial construction on canvas. Later in the 1920s he studied the art of Renaissance (especially the work of Piero della Francesca ). He painted still lifes, genre and religious paintings, female portraits and nude paintings; also worked as a theater artist.
In the late 1920s, F. Kazorati opened his art school in Turin, and at the same time he taught at the Turin Academy of Arts. In the 1930s he took part in numerous Italian and international art exhibitions, received various awards (for example, the prize in the “painting” section at the Venice Biennale in 1938 ). In 1955, he participated in the documenta 1 exhibition of contemporary art in Kassel .
Casorati is dedicated to the Roman concert of composer Alfredo Casella (1926).
