- May 15 - 18, 1948 - diplomatic relations were established at the mission level.
- February 11, 1953 - diplomatic relations were interrupted by the USSR government.
- July 6-15, 1953 - diplomatic relations were restored.
- April 29 - May 12, 1954 - missions were transformed into embassies.
- June 10, 1967 - diplomatic relations were interrupted by the USSR government.
- January 3, 1991 - diplomatic relations were restored at the level of consulates general.
- October 18, 1991 - Consulates general are transformed into embassies.
