Daniel Alexander “Danny” Jordan ( Daniel Alexander “Danny” Jordaan ; September 3, 1951 , Port Elizabeth ) is a South African football administrator and politician who fought against apartheid . Head of the organizing committee for the 2010 FIFA World Cup , first held in Africa . Jordan worked for a long time at FIFA , acting as the general coordinator of the youth world championships and the Confederations Cup 2001 and the 2002 World Cup . He was also Commissioner and Member of the Organizing Committee at the 2006 World Cup and Confederations Cup 2009 . Jordan is also a member of the International Marketing Council.

Biography
Danny Jordan was born into the Maxine family and Alexandra Jordan. He began his work by joining the South African student organization created by Steve Biko , who fought against apartheid and defended the rights of blacks . He later became a member of the United Democratic Front and the National African Congress .
Jordan later became a teacher. And also, from 1970 to 1983 , he played football and cricket in provincial teams. In football, he even held several games for professional clubs.
From 1983 to 1992, Jordan worked in various administrative positions in South Africa's football. In 1993, he was appointed director of the Cape Town Olympic Committee.
At the same time he was making a political career. In 1990, he was appointed chairman of the NAF branch in the north of Port Elizabeth. And in 1994 he became a member of the South African parliament, holding this position until 1997 .
In 1997, Jordan was appointed CEO of the South African Football Association . In 2006, he led the South African bid for the 2006 World Cup. And then for the 2010 World Cup.
