Viktor Pavlovich Lukachev ( April 4, 1920 , Shcherbinovka - April 29, 1988 , Kuibyshev ) - a prominent Soviet scientist in the field of studying the processes of mixing and burning in aircraft engines, doctor of technical sciences ( 1972 ), Hero of Socialist Labor ( 1987 ), rector of the Kuibyshev Aviation Institute [1] , Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RSFSR ( 1978 ).

Biography
Born on April 4, 1920 in Shcherbinovka [2] in a mining family. Then the family moved to live in Gorlovka .
In 1938 he entered the Leningrad Institute of Civil Air Fleet Engineers [3] . Simultaneously, he studied at the flying club.
In July 1941, having failed to learn, he volunteered for the front. He served as a mechanic of a fighter aviation regiment on the Leningrad and Volkhov fronts. In 1942 he received a severe concussion, an ensemble and was sent for treatment to Kuibyshev [4] . In the same year he entered the Kuibyshev Aviation Institute . After graduating in 1946, he stayed at the institute.
- In 1956 he became the rector of KuAI.
- In 1972, V.P. Lukachev defended his doctoral thesis.
- In 1978 he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Worker of Science and Technology.
Author and co-author of 200 scientific papers, 6 patents, 33 copyright certificates . Since 1958, he headed the Department of Heat Engineering and Heat Engines, and since 1969 - the Department of Engine Theory, was the supervisor of the industrial research laboratory of microenergy.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 1987 for outstanding achievements in scientific, educational, social and political activities, as well as in the training of scientific personnel, Lukachev Viktor Pavlovich was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Sickle and Molot gold medal.
He died on April 29, 1988 after a long illness. He was buried in Samara at Rubizhne cemetery .

- A memorial plaque in Samara on building number 5 of the Samara State Aerospace University , which states:
“A great scientist, organizer of science and education / Hero of Socialist Labor / professor / Lukachev Viktor Pavlovich / rector of the university from 1956 to 1988, who made an outstanding contribution to the formation and development of Samara State Aerospace University, studied and worked here
