The Museum of Surmond - Ludwig ( German: Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum ) is an art museum in Aachen , created in 1883. The museum was named after the founder Bartold Surmond . Since 1901, the museum has been located in the Villa Cassalette mansion on Wilhelmstrasse in Aachen.

The museum’s collection consists of paintings and sculptures of the 12th – 20th centuries, tapestries and silverware, stained glass windows from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Also presented are 10 thousand drawings, watercolors and drawings, including engravings and drawings by Albrecht Dürer , Rembrandt , Francisco Goya , as well as paintings by famous local artists such as Walter Orpheus , Heinrich Maria Davringhausen , Hans Bolz .
