Tremisse ( lat. Tremissis, tremissus ), tremisse , sometimes triense (or golden triense as opposed to bronze triense ) is a coin of the late Roman Empire, the value of which was first one-third aureus and then solid (weight - 1 ⁄ 216 Roman pound, there is 1.51 grams).
Triss was introduced between 383 and 384 by Emperor Magnum Maxim (383-388), and from the beginning of the 5th century many tremises were minted. Triss minted after the collapse of the Western Roman Empire in the Byzantine Empire .
