Biography
Born in 1920 in Shandong Province . Since 1938, he conducted cultural and educational work in parts of the People's Liberation Army of China . In 1942 , returning from the front, he entered the Lu Xin Academy of Arts in Yan'an . In 1945, he went to Manchuria , liberated by the Red Army , where he was again in the units of the People's Liberation Army at his previous job. Together with the PLA fighters took part in the battles for the cities of Mukden , Tianjin , Beijing . He was one of the editors of the culture department of the 4th Field Army .
In 1942, after Mao Zedong 's speech at the Yanan conference of literary and art workers, Ding Ni began to engage in literary activity. His most famous work is the play The Gray-haired Girl , written in collaboration with the writer He Jingzhi (published in the journal Zvezda , translated by P. Zakharov). He also wrote the stories “The Loafer Becomes a Hero”, “The Wall Newspaper”, the play “Destroy the aggressors”, etc.
