Photographic processes

Photographic processes - a set of technologies that allows you to get a photographic image on photographic materials .

  • Classical chemical methods of obtaining images in photographs or film on photosensitive photographic materials .
  • Digital and combined methods of obtaining image files and printed photographs .
  • Electrographic and other processes in which there are no chemical reactions, but the transfer of the substance that forms the image.

Digital Photographic Processes

They mean shooting with a digital camera , processing (optionally) an image on a computer and obtaining a picture in the form of a file or printout on a printer .

Combined Photographic Processes

  • Film-digital - the exposed and processed film is subsequently scanned on a scanner, and the end result of the process is a file with an image or a printout of this file made on a printer .
  • Digital with optical printing - a file received from a digital camera is printed on classic photo paper and other traditional photo materials. It is most often used for artistic purposes to obtain a certain style of image, or when applying images to a substrate unsuitable for printing on a digital printer (images on surfaces of irregular shape and rough texture, concave and convex), as well as for obtaining durable images (for example, a medallion on tombstones).
  • Analog with intermediate digital processing - the film is scanned, the image is processed digitally and printed on classic photo paper or on a special positive film. It is used in the restoration of films and photographs that are severely damaged or corrupted in cross-processing .

Industrial Photographic Processes

  • Photolithography
