Peter Whitehead ( eng. Peter Whitehead ; November 12, 1914 - September 21, 1958 ) is a British race car driver.

Career
Whitehead sponsored performances at the expense of his family. He began his performances at the age of 20 in 1935, first with an Alta car, and then in 1936 he acquired the ERA B model. He took the purchase in 1938 with him on a business trip to Australia, where he won the Australian Grand Prix at it. After World War II, he took part in the 13th Grand Prix of the newly formed World Cup, starting from the second stage, the 1950 Monaco Grand Prix . He managed to finish only once with glasses, but it was a podium - third place at the French Grand Prix in 1950 . He also participated in several extra-grand prix of Formula 1 . In addition, in 1951 he won the 24 hours of Le Mans with Peter Walker driving a Jaguar .
Peter Whitehead is the first person to whom Enzo Ferrari sold a race car of his own production: it was a Ferrari 125 , which he performed during the 1950-1952 season. Peter also holds the first victory in the history of the Mount Panorama Circuit .
Death
Peter’s last major achievement was a 1958 Le Mans 24-hour performance with his half-brother Graham Whitehead , where he finished second with Aston Martin . A few months later, Peter and Graham participated in the Tour de France , when at one stage their Jaguar flew off the highway on the bridge, breaking through fences, and fell into a 10-meter gorge. Graham, who was driving at that moment, was seriously injured, while Peter died.
