Biography
After the assassination of his father, Thomas Woodstock , all his titles and lands were confiscated. Humphrey's mother, Eleanor de Bohun, after the death of her husband, became a nun and retired to a monastery in Barking. Humphrey had only the title of Earl of Buckingham , although in reality the county was also confiscated. From the death of his father to his death, he was Lord High Constable of England . Humphrey survived his father only for two years, in the fall of 1399 he died from the outbreak of an epidemic of bubonic plague . Since he was childless, his possessions passed to the crown.
