Goliath (tortoise)

Goliath - the nickname of the elephant turtle , considered the largest land tortoise in the world.

The largest living specimen of an ivory turtle (Geochelone nigra) named Goliath, has been living in The Life Fellowship Bird Sanctuary, in Seffner , Florida , USA , since 1960. As of 1988, its length was 135.5 cm, width 102 cm, height 68.5 cm, and weight 385 kg; by 1996 its weight approached 400 kg. [one]
