The newspaper began to be published on March 9, 1918 under the name "Dagestan Worker". In 1920-1922 it was called "Soviet Dagestan", in 1922-1932 - "Red Dagestan". The modern name since 1932 [2] . In the late 1980s, the circulation of the newspaper reached 160 thousand copies.
