History
The founders of Forbidden (originally Forbidden Evil) were guitarists Glen Alvelais and Robb Flynn , vocalist Russ Anderson, bassist Matt Camacho and drummer Paul Bostaph . Shortly before recording the debut album, Robb Flynn was succeeded by Craig Locicero.
Having reduced the name of their band to Forbidden, the musicians immortalized the original name on the cover of the first Forbidden Evil album, which was released in 1988 under the brand name of Combat.
Later, two Forbidden members moved to Testament . Glen Elvelas left in 1989, and his place was taken by Tim Calvert from the group Militia . And after recording the second record of Twisted Into Form, Paul Bostaf left, who later became a member of Slayer . The new Forbidden drummer is Steve Jacobs.
A new album called Distortion was not released until 1995. It contained a version of the song King Crimson 21st Century Schizoid Man and was distinguished by a darker mood and heavier riffs . During this time, the group held two tours, including in Europe, where for the second time took part in the Dynamo festival. Two years later, Forbidden released their fourth album, Green , moving further away from the classic thrash, soon after which they split up.
In 2001, Forbidden was reborn during the Thrash of the Titans concert under the original name Forbidden Evil.
In 2007, the group gathered again. For drums, Gene Hoglan , who played Dark Angel , Death , Testament and Strapping Young Lad, sat down. He was succeeded by Mark Hernandez ( Vio-lence , Heathen ). The group prepared new material, which was released on the 2010 album.
In August 2011, Marc Hernandez left the band for personal reasons. He was replaced by Gene Hoglan. In November of that year, the group announced that Sasha Horn would be the new drummer. But in July 2012, Camacho and Anderson announced that they were leaving the group. This departure marked another decay.
