Ute Oberhoffner ( German: Ute Oberhoffner ; maiden name Weiss , September 15, 1961 , Ilmenau , East Germany ) is a German sledgewoman who played for the German Democratic Republic in the 1980s. She took part in two Olympic Winter Games, won bronze at the 1984 competition in Sarajevo , and won silver at the 1988 Calgary tournament - both medals in the women's single event program.

Ute Oberhofner is the winner of four World Championships, her track record has one silver medal (mixed teams: 1989) and three bronze (single races: 1983, 1987, 1989). Three times the athlete received the podium of the European Championships, including once the first (single races: 1988), once the second (mixed teams: 1988) and once the third (single races: 1983). Twice won the overall standings of the World Cup , in the seasons 1982-1983 and 1988-1989.
At the end of her career as a professional athlete, Oberhofner became a teacher in the school of her hometown of Ilmenau , in 2003 she was recognized as its honorary resident. Married to sledger Bernd Oberhofner , 1979 European Champion.
