Alexander Alekseevich Mikhailov (also known as A. A. Mikhailov 1st , 1770–1847) was a Russian architect, academician and professor of architecture at the Imperial Academy of Arts .

Biography
"Her Majesty's own diamond affairs apprentice workshop son." Older brother A. A. Mikhailov 2nd . A pupil (from the age of 6) and a student of the Imperial Academy of Arts (1776-1791). Pupil of the architect Yu. M. Felten . Pensioner I. I. Betsky (since 1777). He received medals of the Academy of Arts: a small silver (1788), a large silver medal (1791) and a small gold medal for the program: "Public entertainment institution . " He received a certificate for the title of the artist with the right to the rank of the XIV class with a sword (1791) and was left at the Academy of Arts.
Defined in the Cabinet of Her Imperial Majesty (1792). He was recognized as "appointed to academicians" (1799) for the "project of the church for the village . " He received the title of academician (1800) "according to plans and facades of the salt and wine shops . " He was defined as an assistant to the architect in the buildings produced in the Academy of Arts (1803) and performing the post of associate professor of architecture. Approved as an adjunct professor (1809). Elected professor (1818) on the "project of the theater . " Dismissed from the post of assistant architect of the Academy of Arts (1819). Dismissed from service at the Academy of Fine Arts (1830).

- Orthodox Church of St. Catherine , on Vasilyevsky Island, except the bell tower, built later by the project of architect A. M. Bolotov (or L. Bonstedt ). Many sources attribute the Church of St. Catherine A. A. Mikhailov to the 2nd.
- parts of Obukhov and Kalininka hospitals
- many private houses in Petersburg .
