Biography

Born on March 18, 1917 in the village of Chernyavka, Klimovichsky district, Mogilyov province, now the village of Chernyavka, Khotsimsky district of Belarus.

From 1935 - in Leningrad, in 1937 he was sent to the Chkalovsk Military Aviation School, which he graduated in 1940, where he worked as a pilot-instructor. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1940.

In the Great Patriotic War - since 1943, on the Western, Bryansk, 1st and 4th Ukrainian fronts. Participant of the Battle of Kursk, the liberation of Ukraine, Hungary, Czechoslovakia. The squadron commander of the assault air regiment, Ya. E. Susko, carried out 141 combat sorties, destroyed about 30 enemy tanks, 120 vehicles, 25 guns, 27 mortar batteries, 2 locomotives, 45 cars, 2 railway stations, 11 airplanes at airfields.

After the war he graduated from the Voronezh Regional Party School and Pedagogical Institute (1949), as well as the Higher Diplomatic School (1952). Until 1946 he was in the Soviet Army, until 1978 - in diplomatic work in Yugoslavia, Uganda, Iraq. He was awarded the title of Ambassador Extraordinary of the USSR.

He lived in Moscow. He died on February 25, 2002, was buried in Moscow at the Troekurovsky cemetery (station No. 4).

Awards

  • The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded on 29.6.1945.
  • He was awarded the Order of Lenin, three Orders of the Red Banner, Orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Alexander Nevsky and medals.
