More than six hundred years of history of the administrative center of the settlement - the village of Ilyinskoye - is full of famous names and outstanding events. For a long time Ilyinsky was the palace of the sovereign village, which is reflected on the flag with a blue glaucus.

Its modern name Ilyinsky (formerly the village of Luga) was received from an old church in the name of Elijah the Prophet , originally wooden, and then rebuilt in stone in 1735 by the architect A.P. Yevlashev , a student of the famous Rastrelli . The name of the settlement is allegorically reflected in a golden wheel inscribed in a golden ring. As you know, the Old Testament prophet Elijah was taken alive by God to heaven: “while the Lord wanted to lift Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind. Elijah was walking with Elisha from Gilgal ... When they walked along the road and talked, a chariot suddenly appeared ... and Elijah carried a whirlwind into heaven. ”(2 Kings 2: 1, 11).

The sun - a source of warmth, peace and harmony - pours a stream of life-creating forces on the earth, and its grace on people. The people of the sun are wise, loyal, reliable friends.

The ring with which the sun is crowned allegorically shows the connection of times, the historical continuity of generations.

The prince’s cap from the coat of arms of the family of princes Yusupovs , the richest family in tsarist Russia, is placed on the headquarters. Prince Nikolai Borisovich Yusupov , the owner of Arkhangelsk, belonged to one of the oldest noble families of Russia, originating from the legendary prophet Muhammad (VI century AD). Nikolai Borisovich had the highest rank of the actual Privy Councilor of the first rank, was awarded all orders of the Russian Empire. It was for N. B. Yusupov that they invented (especially for him) a pearl epaulette that the prince wore on his right shoulder and which no one else had.

The estate is striking in its beauty and grandeur of classical architectural forms, marble statues adorn the terraces of palaces, pavilions and colonnades built according to strict symmetry laws;

the linden alley, which, in memory of the Russian warrior, private, officer or general who fell in the battle of Borodino , was planted by General Count Osterman-Tolstoy , and Prince Nikolai Borisovich Yusupov helped him and planted linden trees towards his Archangelsk.
