Loch Ericht is a large freshwater lake in central Scotland ; occupies a mountain cleft, going from the southwest to the northeast [1] . The area of the lake is 19 km² and the maximum depth is 156 meters.

The maximum length is about 23 km. It is located at an altitude of 351 m above sea level and is oriented from the north-east to the south-west. It is the tenth largest freshwater lake in Scotland.
In the lake, fish species such as pike , perch , carp , trout and salmon are found [1] .
