Patricide, patricide ( lat. Pater "father" + caedere "kill") - the murder of his own father ; in many cultures and religions, patricide is considered one of the worst sins . For example, according to Cicero , in the Roman Republic, patricide was the only crime for which a citizen was subjected to the death penalty .
