Barseghyan, Ashot Yakovlevich

Ashot Yakovlevich Barsegyan ( Armenian Աշոտ Յակովի Բարսեղյան ; May 5, 1964 , Yerevan , Armenian SSR , USSR ) - Soviet and Armenian football player , Armenian football coach. Now he is the head coach of the Ganzasar football club. Father of Tigran Barseghyan .

Club career

Speaking for the “Banants” club , Ashot Barseghyan became the first player of the Major League of Armenia to score 50 goals. He scored his 50th goal on June 14, 1993 in a match against the Zvartnots Echmiadzin . After spending only one and a half seasons in the Armenian championships and scoring 54 goals in 43 meetings, Barseghyan set an average performance record for the match - 1.25 goals in one game [1] .

Subsequently, Barseghyan continued his career as a football player in Lebanon [1] . The next season, he moved to the Beirut Omenetman .

Coaching career

Since 2003, as an assistant, he worked at Banants . After leaving the post of head coach Hovhannes Zanazanyan in 2005, Ashot Barseghyan took a vacant post. After working season, he left the club. At the end of May 2006 he headed the Yerevan “ Cilicia ”, celebrating his victorious debut against “ Gandzasar ” [2] . But here Barseghyan did not stay long, leaving the club's location in 2007. In the same year he returned to Banants as an assistant, in which he worked until the fall of 2009 [3] . In connection with the dismissal of Armen Gyulbudagyants became the acting head coach [4] . With the arrival in January 2010, Stevitsa Kuzmanovsky returned to the role of an assistant [5] . However, then Barseghyan headed “ Banants-2 ”, playing in the First League , as a result of which he was relieved of his post as an assistant and completely focused on work in the “Banantsa” farm club [6] . In May 2011, by the decision of the Banants management Ashot Barseghyan was dismissed from his post as the head coach of Banants-2 [7] .
