Georgy Petrovich Alyavdin (1923, Polotsk - 2001) - Soviet conductor , professor , honored artist of the RSFSR (1962), colonel (1971). He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor (1968).

Biography
Born in 1923 in Polotsk. In 1927, the family moved to Vitebsk .
Since 1939, he began his studies at the Leningrad Musical School-Decade at the Leningrad State Conservatory (pipe class - A. N. Schmidt).
In 1942-1947 he studied at the Naval Faculty at the Leningrad State Conservatory, where he graduated with honors (teachers: B. I. Anisimov - instrumentation, I. A. Musin - conducting, A. N. Schmidt - trumpet).
Since 1947 - military conductor of the orchestra of the Leningrad Higher Naval School of Diving. In 1951 he was transferred to Moscow to the Separate Model Orchestra of the Navy of the USSR (now the Central Concert Model Orchestra named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov ), which he directed in 1953-1970. Over the years, the orchestra, under the direction of Georgy Petrovich, has become one of the best musical groups in the country.
Orchestra
Many composers of the country collaborated with the orchestra and specially wrote their works for it. Among them it is worth noting: E. Makarova, B. Gotlib, G. Kalinkovich, N. Ivanov-Radkevich and others.
At different times, such soloists as A. Razum, A. Vedernikov , I. Kozlovsky , A. Eisen , T. Dokshitser , N. Avdeeva and others performed with the orchestra.
Pupils
Since 1970, George Alyavdin taught conducting at the faculty of military conductors at the Moscow State Conservatory . Among his students are such conductors as: Lieutenant General Valery Khalilov - Head of the Russian Military Orchestra Service, Colonel V. Ivanov - Deputy Head of the Russian Military Orchestra Service, Colonel A. Kolotushkin - Head of the Central Military Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense, Captain 1st rank A. Karabanov - head of the Central Concert Model Orchestra of the Navy and many others.
