Krauschar Pilach, Zilke

Zilke Krauschar-Pilach ( German: Silke Kraushaar-Pielach , October 10, 1970 , Sonneberg , Germany ) - a titled German sleigh rider who played for the German national team from 1995 to 2008. She took part in three Winter Olympic Games and won three medals of various denominations, gold in Nagano (1998), bronze in Salt Lake City (2002) and silver in Turin (2006) - all in women's single races.

Zilke Krauskhar-Pilach is the winner of ten world championships, four times she won the first place (singles: 2004; mixed teams: 2000, 2001, 2007), four times the second (singles: 2000, 2001; mixed teams: 1997, 1999) and three times third (single: 2007, 2008). Ten times the athlete received the podium of the European Championships, has seven gold medals in the track record (singles: 1998, 2004, 2006; mixed teams: 1998, 2000, 2004, 2006) and three silver ones (singles: 2000, 2002, 2008).

Five times Krauskhar won the World Cup overall standings, in the seasons 1998-1999, 2000-2001, 2001-2002, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007. The last race in her career was held on February 16, 2008, finishing third in the women's single skating program, just like in her cup debut on November 30, 1996.

Since July 2006, married to German businessman Michael Pilach. On January 24, 2008, she posted her sleigh at the eBay auction, which she performed throughout her career, while noting that all proceeds from their sale would go to support young sledgers. As a result, the lot was bought by her sled club in Oberhof for 1,160 euros. At the moment, Zilke Krauschar-Pilach works as a manager in the state of the bobsleigh federation of Germany.
