Economic Development

Traditional for the region are such industries as energy, metallurgy and the chemical industry, in agriculture - vegetable growing, melon growing, canning and food industries.

Volgograd agglomeration is one of the four zones of accelerated development in the Volgograd region. Within its framework, the following main clusters are supposed to be distinguished: a modern chemical complex in the southern industrial zone of the regional center; transport and logistics hub, which will include the Volgograd Bypass high-speed highway and 4 logistics parks; An international business center based on the Volzhsky intermodal terminal and a tourist center in the Volgo-Akhtubinskaya floodplain nature park [4] .
